Kenzo Look 1 / Look 2 / Look 3 / Look 4 / Look 5
Since the Fall collections started being shown in February, I knew that Paris was going to be amazing this year, and thus far, I have yet to be corrected.
Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have done beautiful and stunningly interesting designs for their Fall 2014 Kenzo show. The collection was inspired by the David Lynch aesthetic, which I love. The show felt like a collection of rare silk worms and caterpillars that were going through a metamorphosis. The bright colours, the interesting textures, and the elegant swaddling of fabric added such artistic intrigue to each look.
St. Laurent Look 1 / Look 2 / Look 3 / Look 4 / Look 5
I completely adored Hedi Slimane’s showing for St. Laurent‘s Fall 2014 collection. It brought to mind the hip and radical gals of the 60’s, protesting the Cuban Missile Crisis in London. Such a true St. Laurent aesthetic of rock and roll combined in a sweetly feminine way. Effortless, chic, and above all else, cool.
Givenchy Look 1 / Look 2 / Look 3 / Look 4 / Look 5 / Look 6
I am truly loving the evolution of Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. The man is a complete genius. Though I was a huge fan of his beloved sweatshirts of the not so distant past, his newest collection for Fall 2014 is gorgeous. He is definitely cultivating a higher sense of art and refinery as he continues to grow. It is so romantic and elegant, but at the same time, without a doubt sexy. The prints, the leathers, the furs, the florals, the soft sheers, the sparkle, the immaculately cut suits…the list goes on. Look 1 through to the end were absolute perfection. I am blown away by the exquisite design and change of pace Tisci brings to the House each season.
Chloé Look 1 / Look 2 / Look 3 / Look 4 / Look 5
Is there anything in this world that is prettier or more chic than Clare Waight Keller’s Fall 2014 collection for Chloé? I don’t think so. I always, always, always swoon for Chloé collections. So feminine, and artistic, and beautiful. This show really won me over though. I am infatuated with each and every piece. This is how all interesting women should dress. The soft palette of blush, tan, and white was classic Chloé, but I loved the infusion of deep purples, the pop of the playful prints, the metallic appliqués, and the supple leathers. Little, light skirts worn under oversized soft sweaters, a handful of feathered looks, and amazing buckled boots? Je suis dans l’amour!!!
I wonder if I could skip out on life and make my way to the City of Light without anyone noticing? Hmm…definitely worth considering.
