Summer Semi-Hiatus

tropical-coconut-drinkI realize that in April I had promised to return to a more regular and fuller posting schedule once school was complete, but unfortunately, The Rêve Head will not be able to fulfill that promise entirely.

I’m going to be interning at MTV FORA over the next few months and feel as though I need to focus my efforts on my editorial contributions to their blog.

I’ll still do my best to post on The Rêve Head every so often, but won’t be able to post as frequently as I had intended. However, do be sure to check out my posts for FORA, as those will be more regular, and the rest of the blog’s content is fantastic!

The Killin’-It List

Confession: I am a total Kardashian Junkie. As a beloved ‘lady’ once said, SO WHAT? WHO CARES?! People love to hate on them, love to point out how they are just a manifestation of the troubled frame of mind our generation is in. I could care less. The show provides me with mindless entertainment in a world where my brain is constantly overwhelmed with external stressors, where the family’s candor cracks me up and honestly, makes me cry on the regular. So that’s my dirty little secret: I’m a Kardashian fan. Big. Frickin’. Whoop. Continue reading

Summer Reading So Far

SummerBooksSoFar

School is fine and dandy, but good lord, does it ever interrupt your life. I regularly am unable to join in the reindeer games my friends partake in as I have too much studying etc. etc. to do. My monthly pile of magazines (Harper’s Bazaar, W, and Vogue) sit in a sad (but still stylish) little pile collecting dust, I may only get to look through each one ONCE before the next month arrives. As well, thanks to the time it takes to read and study my textbooks, my ‘reading for pleasure’ collection has grown, and I have yet to make a dent. Continue reading

Strolling down Bloor Street today, sun shining, happy people out on the patios enjoying sangria…I realized: it’s official…spring has sprung (about bloody time too)! Continue reading

Fantasy Crush League

CRUSHIN_edited-1

I am by no means professing to know a damn thing about football or any sports for that matter, but I have come to understand that people like to partake in ‘Fantasy Leagues‘ when it comes to their favourite recreational activities. I actually don’t really know what this means, but I’m going to assume you get to put together a group of your choosing, picking your favourite athletes to make up this fantasy team. As a non-sportsfan I still want to partake, so I’ve decided to put together a team of my own ‘Fantasy Crush League’ consisting of some scrumptious fictional characters from my favourite tv shows and movies. Enjoy! Continue reading

One Man’s Trash

In the movie Zoolander they highlight a new fashion craze entitled Derelicte, which showcased garments that consisted of mundane objects and garbage that you may find scattered on the streets. This type of ‘anti-fashion’ movement isn’t just a hilarious punchline from a much beloved movie from 2001, but one that actually has some bearing on trends today. Continue reading

Final Countdown

Good afternoon fellow dreamers!

Today marks the beginning of the end….of my semester that is. The next 4 weeks are going to be rather chaotic, and unfortunately I won’t have the pleasure to indulge my time in these blog posts that I enjoy so much.

From now until April 24th I won’t be able to post as often. Henceforth, you (my lovely readers) can expect posts on Fridays, and MAYBE Tuesdays if time permits.

Post exams you can expect a more regular and full posting schedule. Not to worry, The Rêve Head shall persist.

SPOTTED: Spots

 Cruella

It’s taking some time to adjust my way of thinking during this seasonal transition period. My brain has been wired for the last many months to focus on: CHUNKY KNITS. DOWN FILLED JACKETS. ELECTRIC BLANKET CLOTHING. In order to re-wire the old noggin’, I’m dreaming of what I want to wear this spring, whilst I frolic down the sun-saturated streets.

Objet D’Art

George Condo + Kim

With spring fast (FASTER PLEASE) approaching, one must take pause and ruminate on what interesting trends might soon flood the stylish sidewalks of Metropolitan cities. I have been obsessing over the french phrase ‘objet d’art’ for almost a year now. I don’t exactly know why, but I just like the concept of pieces of interest, whether it be on a shelf, next to your stack of stylish coffee-table-toppers, or in the case of recent trends, on your designer accessories.

Picnic Pout

POUT

With the snow melting, and the sun making its first attempt this year to SLIGHTLY warm the planet I am reminded that spring is on its way. And because I like to get ahead of myself, this means summer is close by as well.

Summer weather means light, airy clothes, and barely there makeup. Our skin is sun-kissed, so our faces are able to breath without formulas. Despite making a concerted effort to rock a ‘natural glow’ all summer long, I am happy to play around with lipstick pigments. Today I’m going to find the perfect lipstick to match the tint provided to your pout by some yummy, summer picnic treats.
